Privacy and seclusion, without isolation. This updated country chalet is tucked out of the way, is virtually surrounded by state land, and is walking distance to the Esopus Creek. Only moments to shopping, Belleayre Mountain and Belleayre Lake.

Put your skis in the mud room, eat a hearty meal at the big dining room table, and cuddle by the fireplace. Warmer months you’ll be outside on the open lawn areas, fire pit, kid’s swings, and the old railroad bridge to the river!

The bedrooms feel more like a comfy den and the dining room is what a family meal is all about. The house speaks of comfort and country charm.

  • We stayed here for a weekend for our nephew's wedding which was held 5 miles down the road. I wish we could have stayed longer!! The house is in a pretty remote area with no cell service, but with all of Jason and Phyllis' specific directions and instructions, everything came easily. The house is very clean and cozy and the beds that we used ( there was only 3 of us) were very comfortable. We would definitely return to this house or one of Jason/ Phyllis' other properties! Thank you guys!!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Jason and Phyllis' place! The house is absolutely bursting with charm, and is located in an incredibly beautiful setting. Really felt like a well-loved home, and one my family was very glad to have had the chance to stay in. Jason and Phyllis were super communicative and responsive, and were very easy to work with. And of course, it's a wonderful area. Fully recommend!

  • Magnificent stay! The photos do not accurately capture how incredibly charming this house is. Plenty of comfortable space for two families with kids....stocked kitchen and pantry, and many books, legos, and areas to explore outside the house. Jason and Phyllis were really responsive and helpful. Looking forward to returning!

  • It was wonderful. Fully equipped and extremely comfortable. Great privacy.

  • This cabin is magical- we were so happy to have a great stay and enjoy nature. It's close enough to go into town but also secluded. It was exactly what we were looking for. The house is clean and well stocked with everything you could need. DVDs and CDs we're awesome to have on a rainy day. Our girls enjoyed being able to stay in the one room with three beds - it was perfect for them. They also really enjoyed the swing set (and the ton of Legos!) and it was so great to be close to the creek. There was an excellent swimming hole- so worth bringing bathing suits. There were a lot of ticks - not to do with house but as city dwellers just needed to be mindful to do tick checks! That being said we saw deer, bunnies and lots of chipmunks - and it was amazing to be in nature! The fire pit was a great place to spend evenings. Jason and Phyllis are fantastic- super timely with communication and just really responsive. We'd definitely stay again!

  • My family and I loved our stay at Jason and Phyllis's. So much care went into making the place peaceful and welcoming. And my kids (8 and 11) had a lot of fun kicking the soccer ball around in the enormous outdoor space and exploring the nearby railroad tracks. We appreciated all of the details that went into making this place a relaxing and cozy retreat. We were there in mid-May, and the temperature inside the house was perfect. Travelers to this area should definitely be aware that the location is remote--as is standard for the region--and this may require some adjustments for families (limited cell service, not a huge number of amenities nearby, garbage and recycling need to be separated, and pick-up arranged, etc.) This is part of what makes it a retreat from city life!

  • Very comfortable, spacious house with very well apportioned kitchen (you can tell the owners like to cook). The house is only 10 minutes from Belleayre, I'm sure it's also very nice in the summer given it's on a creek.

  • The Big Indian Villa is a real treat. Lovely location and house as well as convenient for travel to local attractions. We hope to stay there again soon.

  • We love everything about this house. We stayed 3 weeks and could've stayed 3 more. Jason and Phyllis from Pinehollow Lodging do a wonderful job managing this property and are always available to help make your stay an enjoyable one. The house is on a beautiful ate a that offers so many interesting things to do - hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, long walks. A most wonderful 3 week vacation.

  • I will recommend it, It is a perfect place for 7 people, looks like the pictures , very close to Belleayre ski area, the house is like a friend borrow the house for the week, it has everything you need , including little details, I love to cook, and i felt like master chef, i had everything what i need.! As their recommendation try to arrive on day time until you get used to the place , because the entrance is in a deep curve..! So what i mean is that they explain everything so good.! Thanks again..!

  • My kids and mother now associate Christmas and the holiday season with their beautiful, cozy Villa. This was our second time staying and we look forward to staying with them again next year!!

  • Fantastic get away to a peaceful setting in Catskills.

  • Wow - what a fantastic place. My family and I spent two weeks here, escaping the heat of the city and this was a perfect location. Down off the road it was perfect with the kids (we didn't have to worry about them getting close to the road) there is a structure with swing/slide that got good use as well as a lovely lawn and a hammock in the back yard that is perfect for lounging on in the afternoon. We had few if no bugs (middle of July) and the house was perhaps the most 'homey' and comfortable AirBnB I've ever stayed in. There is no cell phone service but the internet works well. If you are staying here in the summer with kids - the Belleayre beach was a godsend - 5 minutes away, beautiful lawn, lovely beach, attentive lifeguards - really a blessing on a hot day. Hosts are helpful and responsive and welcomed us with fresh mint tea, chilled and a bottle of white wine.

  • This place was the perfect cozy cabin for my family. Since we arrived late in the day, we appreciated the little touches like leaving the lights and heat on for us and the bottle of wine. The cabin is adorable, and pictures don’t do it justice. The location is great.

  • We had the most wonderful time at Jason and Phyllis’ house. The experience was magical from start to finish. We were welcomed by a pitcher of homemade mint iced tea and a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. The house itself was so charming but the energy was beyond. We spent most of the time in the massive peaceful lawn cooking in the grill and sitting by the fire pit. We Definitely intend on being back soon. Thank you so much!

  • It was a pleasure dealing with you. Your relaxed and friendly attitude made it so pleasant.
You will surely be hearing from me again.

The house was great. I felt very simpatico with the owners, too, even though I never met them.
The cooking equipment, the furniture, and even the music were all to my taste.
They even have the same flow-control faucet I have in my kitchen.
Please convey my sentiments to the owners.
It was also wonderful to be on a road with lots of hiking trails nearby. I made use of several.
I'm more in love with the Catskills than ever.

My only complaint is that I had to leave when my time was up.
Sometimes I wake up and think I'm still at Big Indian until I open my eyes.
    Wishful thinking, I guess.

  • I stayed here for a wedding down the road with some friends. Jason was incredibly communicative and helpful. The place is very cool and right by the river. Amazing stay! Thank you for sharing your home!

  • The house look much better than the pictures, the land is huge and clean with plenty of outdoor space we spend most of our time outside in the hammock and by the fireplace at night, definitely recommended to anyone who love nature, and there is about a minute walk from the house to a big stream with fresh clean water to deep into and refresh.

  • Secluded, sound of the creek which was good for dips, evening fire pit, well stocked house and super clean, we had an amazing weekend and would return in a heartbeat. Lots of hiking trails nearby, good fishing and Phoenicia is nearby to pick up forgotten supplies. Super quick response to questions was a peace of mind.

  • Nice place. Interesting touches throughout the house. Location is perfect for Belleayre ski.

  • We spent a couple of days at Jason And Phyllis House last week. It’s a fantastic place, impeccable, charming, and awe-inspiring. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, and we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace. Jason And Phyllis always responded quickly whenever we had questions. We would gladly return again!

  • The Villa is awesome. In the middle of the wilderness. We had two families with small kids who love the huge Lawn and swing set. There's a great kitchen and grill for cooking. There's lots of great hiking close by. And Phoenicia is a cute town only 10 mins away.

  • The house is perfect for a quiet retreat. The three bedrooms are located on the second floor next to each other. The outside pit was great for a nice fire and the grill worked well. The kitchen is fully stocked with all sorts of pans. The location was decent. It was a 10 min drive to Phoenicia and a 30 min drive to Woodstock.

  • Beautiful house. Great location

  • We had a great stay. The house was perfect in size and location, cozy and warm. The extra notes around the house were helpful:) And, as usual, Pine Hollow Lodging provided us with all the appropriate information to make our stay easy and memorable. We look forward to booking in the future. Thanks!!

  • Great time at Big Indian Villa.  Looking forward to staying there again.

  • Everything about our stay at the Big Indian Villa was wonderful, beginning the rental process with Pine Hollow Lodging. Jason and Phyllis are terrific to work with. The house and location are perfect. Everything about our stay there was 5 Star. We cannot wait to go back there in the Summer.

  • Thank you for our stay in your very warm unique home. So many conversation pieces, great décor, perfect getaway.  We hope to be back again sometime soon.  We had a great time!

We loved this cozy country home! Great Memories!

    Thank you!

  •

Big Indian Villa was wonderful!  A perfect spot to rest after skiing!

  • Thanks Jason. Was a lovely stay. Very comfortable, homey, eclectic house. Was great to be that close to the slopes. Cheers

  • Such a beautiful, peaceful, and restful home!  Thank you for sharing!  We had a great time here. I LOVE the decorations and antiques!  We cannot wait to return to our new favorite spot!

  • Thank you for this gorgeous spot and for making it available.  I started drawing with green pastel pencils from the moment I got here. Had trouble putting them down until I started feeling anti-social.  I grew up in the Ohio Valley so this feels a little like home to me.

  • Thanks so much for helping us to have a relaxing and peaceful vacation

  • Wonderful house and a perfect place to stay close to nature.

  • Great for weekend skiers! very easy and enjoyable process to rent through Pine Hollow. My friends and I had a really great time and loved the house. Everything worked great; no problems. We plan on keeping it on the list of places to stay up and there and will most likely use it again next season!
