  • Peekamoose Restaurant and Tap Room
    Great food from local farmers, wonderful servers who know everything about the menu, and a sweet atmosphere. Be sure to read the menu for the history of the building. Be sure to ask Mary Beth for the best wine to go with your meal. Get a house specialty drink in the cozy Tap Room. Go early and avoid those loud weekenders!

    On Bridge Street in Roxbury, this hot new night spot is great place to relax, have some food, watch some crazy videos, and enjoy some well crafted libations.   Enjoy great light meals from their new menu. The building is dripping in history but walk inside and you leave the past where it belongs... in the past.

  • Slow Down Cafe
    The Slow Down Cafe in Andes is a great local spot to hang out and have one of the most wonderful meals around.  Local ingredients rule at this cozy country cafe.  Look for the yellow sign in the driveway. Lunch and brunch for sure.  Dinners on occasion.  Do not expect city speed here.  Take a deep breath, slow down, and enjoy the food.

    At Tay Tea in Andes, Nini is your guide into the amazing and surprising world of blended teas.  Nini's blending knowledge speaks of her grandmother and when you sip a cup of her teas you will taste the years of experience.   The blend called Better Than Sex is not actually better than sex but it is wildly close.  Check her website for hours and ordering on line.

  • Liza Belle Leather / The Lost Art Of Living Store
    The Lost Art of Living is the ultimate country artisan boutique right on Main Street in Margaretville. Here you'll find wonderful and interesting pieces exclusively from local crafts people. The store has such amazing stuff that it requires at least two laps around just to soak everyting in. Liza Belle can fit you for a pair of her famously comfortable hand-made sandals. There is something for all the senses here (including fresh organic vegetables in the summer). I sometimes go in just to smell the place.

  • Mountain Yarns / Brooksong Studios
    Tina learned knitting and weaving from her mother and has been spinning and dyeing her own wool for the better part of 14 years. In the Commons Building, on Main Street, Margaretville, her store offers everything you need, including how-to classes. If you are interested in spinning but you don't know how to spin, come to us and you can use one of their wheels. Yarn, knitting tools, everything you need to keep yourself busy.
